This diskette contains programming examples for the book
--------------------------------------------------------------------
              AUTOMATING WITH STEP 7 IN LAD and FBD
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation:
=============
The programming examples are archived as a library in the files
LAD_BOOK.ZIP and FBD_BOOK.ZIP. To install, insert the diskette in
drive A: and start the SIMATIC Manager.

Select the menu command "File -> Retrieve" and specify drive A: in
the dialog box "Retrieving - Select an archive". In the "Files of
type" field, select "PKZip 2.50-Archive (*.zip)" from the list
offered and select the file LAD_BOOK.ZIP or FBD_BOOK.ZIP so that
its name appears in the "File name" field.

Clicking on the "Open" button displays the dialog box "Select Target
Directory". In the window shown, select the directory in which you
want to create the library with the programming examples.

STEP 7 libraries are usually stored in the directory
  <Drive:>\Siemens\Step7\S7libs.
However, you can select any other directory, such as the
directory for the STEP 7 projects (...\S7proj).

Click on "OK" to start the retrieval. The retrieved library
is added to the management list. The created directory occupies
approximately 2.0 MB (depending on the file system used).

Opening a library:
==================
You open the new library either immediately after retrieval,
with the relevant window, or later with "File -> Open" in the
SIMATIC Manager. In this case, select the option "Libraries" and
select LAD_BOOK or FBD_BOOK. (With the "Browse..." button, you can
include projects or libraries not included in the list.)

Deleting programming examples:
=============================
You can delete the library LAD_BOOK or FBD_BOOK with the SIMATIC
Manager using "File -> Delete". Select the "Libraries" option and
mark the library to be deleted. If you click "OK", the SIMATIC
Manager will remove the directory LAD_BOOK or FBD_BOOK and all its
files from the hard disk.
